The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) is planning to design and run a mini campaign for the promotion of agritourism activities in Greece.

Speaking during a recent online meeting with representatives of Agroxenia – a non-profit organization promoting agritourism – GNTO President Angela Gerekou referred to the significant contribution of agritourism to the sustainable transformation of Greece’s tourism economy.

During her speech, Gerekou referred to actions undertaken by the GNTO offices abroad to promote agritourism; the potential of highlighting agritourism through the organization’s digital communication tools including the Visit Greece website and app; and the GNTO’s intention to support Agroxenia’s efforts by placing its activities under the organization’s auspices.

According to GNTO’s president, agritourism is strongly connected with Greece’s “ευ ζειν” philosophy (pronounced Ef Zin, the concept refers to ‘living well’), as it offers visitors a holistic experience where body and soul co-exist in harmony.

“Greece is the country of true wellbeing, measure and balance. This is the essence of the brand ‘Greece’ and the people of agritourism have a unique way of generously offering it to visitors,” she said.

During the same event, Gerekou also referred to Greece’s new international campaign “All you want is Greece”, as well as to the digital transformation of the organization’s communication channels.

In addition, she spoke about the significance of education, digital skills and tools for the development of Greece’s agritourism sector.
