The challenges of the restart of the international cruise industry will be discussed during the 6th Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum (PSTF) that will take place virtually on May 25.

The forum will be held in a digital environment through a special platform created for the event, “at a very important crossroad for global tourism and especially for the cruise industry that aims at a dynamic restart with Greece on top of its agenda,” the forum’s organizer Posidonia Exhibitions S.A. said in an announcement.

The annual international conference and exhibition is dedicated to cruise and sea tourism in the Eastern Mediterranean. This year, it will examine the prospects of a promising cruise restart in the next months and the inevitable changes in cruise operations that are concidered necessary in order to meet the new extraordinary health risk mitigation requirements.

The topics to be discussed this year will include:

– The restart of cruise travel in Europe and the Mediterranean
– The impact on shore excursions and destination management, and the new health protocols
– The outlook for the 2021 season for yachting and cruise travel in Greece
– The “Green Deal” and the environmental challenges ahead
– The impact of Covid-19 on ports.

In addition, during the event, representatives from the port community will update delegates on the latest infrastructure developments in Mediterranean ports.

The 2021 Forum’s speakers include major industry players and stakeholders, as well as representatives of the industry’s supply chain.
