In a letter sent to Greek chambers, bodies and associations, GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis invited businesses that are directly or indirectly connected to tourism from all over the country, to register and benefit from the promotion opportunities offered by Greece’s official destination app, free of charge. “The Visit Greece app is a useful tool for Greece’s visitors, where they can quickly and easily find real time travel information,” Fragakis said in the letter. Launched a short time ago, the Visit Greece app already has over 700,000 downloads. The app receives and promotes information from the organization’s portal www.visitgreece.gr. “The Visit Greece application is the digital face of Greece and an effective tool that connects the world of Greek tourism with travelers, wherever they are… I call on every entrepreneur to take advantage of this great opportunity,” Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis said in an announcement. In order to benefit from the promotion opportunities of the Visit Greece app, businesses are required to visit the www.visitgreece.gr or www.visitgreeceapp.com websites and fill in the “Business Registration” form. The application also offers the option to businesses to update their information and photo material as well as publish special offers and experiences for users. ‘’The Visit Greece app is a useful application for tourism professionals and visitors. During these critical circumstances, we use special tools to boost Greece’s tourism product. The people of tourism are our main priority,” the GNTO’s secretary general said. Developed by the GNTO and Warply with the support of Mastercard and Eurobank, the Visit Greece app was recently announced “Best Mobile App” of the year at the e-volution Awards 2021.
