The annual event will analyze the impact that the coronavirus crisis has had on the tourism industry and the opportunities that have emerged for the restart of Greek tourism. “The ‘day after’ demands infrastructure upgrade and the transformation of relevant sectors including real estate, hotels and accommodation facilities,” the forum’s organizers said in an announcement. During the Delphi Economic Forum, Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis will analyze the opportunities that have emerged from the crisis. Furthermore, the issue of the sector’s upgrade and transformation will be discussed among Dimitris Andriopoulos, CEO of Dimand S.A.; Giorgos Chrysikos, CEO of Grivalia Hospitality; Giorgos Vilos, Executive Director and Commercial & Business Development at Fraport Greece; and Stefanos Theodoridis, CEO of TEMES S.A. Digital Green Certificate in the spotlight Greece has been adjusting to the new reality with the launch of a wide vaccination program and discussions about a digital green certificate. These issues will be analyzed among Peggy Antonakou, General Manager Southeast Europe at Google; Yiannis Retsos, President of the Greek Tourism Confederation – SETE; and Dimitris Fragakis, Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organization. Moreover, Greece’s efforts to develop an environmentally-friendly tourism policy will be discussed among Sofia Zacharaki, Deputy Tourism Minister; Gregory Miller, Executive Director at the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST); Jeremy Sampson, CEO of Travel Foundation UK; Randy Durband, CEO of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC); and Eleni Andreadis, Director of Sustainability at Sani-Ikos. The forum will also host a discussion on the development opportunities of Greek tourism between Attica Governor George Patoulis and Vasilis Apostolopoulos, CEO of the Athens Medical Group.
