Carrying out part of a 5-year mega refurbishment project, the resort over the past few months has proceeded with the soft renovation of all public spaces, guest rooms and suites; and upgrading of outdoor facilities, leisure and sports areas. Porto Carras’ five-star Meliton hotel will open its doors in June with renovated rooms, suites, restaurants and bars. Refurbishments to the overall hotel complex include an upgrade of its outdoor landscaping environment as well as road marking and signage enhancements. The 315-berth marina at Porto Carras has undergone major upgrading works, with fully renovated guest facilities; security upgrades including fire safety and electrical supply systems; and the full replacement of underwater berthing facilities. According to Porto Carras, the largest marina in the North Aegean and Northeastern Europe is ready to host luxury and leisure yachts up to 60m long. “The ultimate goal is to make the Porto Carras Marina the meeting point and the top destination for large boats in the Eastern Mediterranean,” the resort’s management said. The Porto Carras Golf, spreading across 77 hectares, has been fully upgraded for 2021, with final shaping of the topsoil around the 18 holes (greens) as well as with 10,000sqm fresh Platinum Paspalum grass replaced across the courses. Porto Carras has also renovated its Tennis Club & Academy, where guests can brush up on their skills with experienced coaches. Also available will be 6 new tennis courts. The resort’s revamp project also includes the Meliton hotel’s new Beach Bar at its 9km long sandy beach with crystal-clear blue waters, renewed outdoor swimming pools, the Kids Club brand new outdoor playground and cleared hiking trails. Guests can also enjoy a number of other activities throughout the 1,763 hectares of the Porto Carras, such as jogging and bike riding. Aiming to limit the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19), all of the resort’s services and facilities operate under its Holiday Protocol that includes stringent health and safety procedures such as the use of digital services, availability of medical support 24 hours a day, complete disinfection of areas and deep cleaning methods. “Combined with the extensive open spaces and contactless state-of-the-art services, the refurbished Porto Carras offers a safe environment for all guests to enjoy a complete relaxing holiday experience,” the resort’s management said.
