Greece is now 33rd on the list in large part due to the rollout of its vaccination campaign. The country inched up a rank last month after a 20-spot dive two months earlier. On Monday, Greece passed the 5 million mark with at least 3.2 million people already having received at least one dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus. In the previous 24-hour period, Greece recorded 1,381 new coronavirus cases and 50 deaths. According to Bloomberg, countries moving swiftly ahead with vaccination are moving up the ranking. At the top of the list are New Zealand, Singapore, Australia, Israel, and South Korea. At the same time, Taiwan and Japan dropped out of the top 10, while the UK moved up 11th spot. Italy also jumped seven spots after relaxing restrictions on businesses and quarantine rules following a decline in cases. Overall, according to Bloomberg analysts, the US and Europe are the best places to be in during Covid-19 times while many parts of Asia are struggling to contain the deadly virus. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for seven of the biggest declines this month. The Covid Resilience Ranking assesses data from 53 major economies to identify where the pandemic is being handled most effectively and with the least social and economic disruption.
