Covid-19 Guidance on Travel-Related Issues No Quarantine for Vaccinated Britons to Greece and Amber List Countries by GTP editing team 8 July 2021 written by GTP editing team 8 July 2021 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 17 Photo source: @Heathrow Airport Fully vaccinated British travelers, as of July 19, will not need to self-isolate when returning from amber list destinations – including Greece, the UK government announced on Thursday. “From 4am on Monday, July 19, British fully vaccinated adults will not need to isolate from amber list countries including those on clinical trials – another step to fully reopening international travel,” UK Transport Secretary Grant Shapps wrote on twitter. Shapps also said children under 18 would also be exempt from quarantine. Speaking in the House of Commons, Shapps clarified that full vaccination means 14 days have passed since the final dose of the vaccine. This also means that for fully vaccinated travelers the requirements for green and amber list countries are the same. However, travelers will still need to pay for PCR tests before and after their return to England. July 19 is also the day when most Covid-19 rules in the UK are due to end. Greek travel industry leaders view today’s decision as a “positive step” since Britain has traditionally been a primary source market for Greece. Greece’s inclusion on the UK’s amber list has impacted projections for 9 billion euros in travel receipts this year – a target of 50 percent of pre-Covid-19 2019 revenues.
