Greece’s tourism offerings and infrastructure were recently presented to European travel professionals through three online presentations organized by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and the European Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Association (ECTAA), with the support of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (FEDHATTA).

Held between June 29 – July 6 under the title “Showcase, the three presentations promoted mainland Greece, the islands and their potential for extending the season through thematic tourism products, experiences and leisure activities.

More specifically, tour operators and travel agents from The Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Ireland and Scandinavian countries had the opportunity through videos, presentations and updates to get informed about the experiential travel options Greece offers to its visitors.

Furthermore, they were briefed on the country’s latest safety guidelines and hygiene conditions.

“Greek tourism is making a big effort to recover under difficult circumstances. The GNTO is working towards this direction this year. Apart from a promotional campaign running in online platforms and media abroad and our joint advertising campaign with airlines and tour operators, this year we’ve launched presentations to specialized travel agents,” GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis said.

The online events were the first of a number of presentations to be held by ECTAA under the title “Showcase” that aim to promote Greece as an ideal tourism destination amid the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
