Travel Bloggers Greece (TBG), the country’s first professional travel blogging association, visited the island of Andros once travel to the Greek islands opened again for international and domestic visitors.

An island of the Cyclades group that is sometimes overlooked by international visitors, Andros is only a 2-hour ferry connection with Fast Ferries from the port of Rafina.

TBG chose the island of Andros as their first destination, after Covid-19 restrictions were lifted, to highlight safe travel destinations and to inspire visitors to discover the lesser known islands in Greece.

“After an eight-month lockdown we were all eager to get back to exploring the diverse beauty that Greece has to offer and to showing our readers that the country has taken all the necessary measures to safely open up to tourism,” said Elena Sergeeva, co-founder of TBG, who also runs the blogs Passion for Hospitality and Passion for Greece.

The TBG bloggers were invited by the Cycladic Tourism Network of Andros (CNT), a network of local businesses that operate in the area of hospitality and leisure activities.

“As a group we feel that we are responsible for inspiring our readers to explore the hidden gems, to take the routes less travelled and to open up to new possibilities. Andros is a wonderful destination for the curious travellers that will most definitely appreciate the refined character of this unique Cycladic island,” Sergeeva added.

On Andros, the 8 bloggers also celebrated the sixth anniversary since the launch of TBG.

During their four-day visit, the bloggers explored both the popular and hidden treasures of Andros island, including the cultural sites of the Monastery of Saint Irene, the cave of Foros, local honey producers, the Andrion Club and many untamed beaches.

CTN Andros President Christos Balogiannis, together with a group of CTN Andros team members, warmly welcomed the group and showcased the numerous hot spots of the island. Balogiannis noted that he has always loved working with travel bloggers in order to “promote Andros island as one of the most attractive destinations for families and groups of friends, nature lovers and adventure activities lovers”.

Founded in Athens in 2015, TBG has participated in more than 25 destination trips in Greece and internationally.
