Parents can book an appointment for their children at http://emvolio.gov.gr using their TAXIS code or at the KEP citizens’ service centers or at pharmacies. Vaccination for children will be voluntary. Children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian during their arrival at vaccination centers. Greece’s National Vaccination Committee have approved the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for the inoculation of children, deeming them both effective and safe. Concerns over spread of Covid-19 among children Greek health authorities are concerned about the surge of Covid-19 incidents among children and adolescents. “Continuous infections of children will lead to new mutations,” Greece’s National Vaccination Committee President Maria Theodoridou said in a Covid-19 briefing on Monday. She added that the committee has given the green light for the vaccination of children aged 12-15 based on the country’s epidemiological data. Meanwhile, Health Minister Vasilis Kikilias clarified that it is up to the parents to decide whether or not their children get inoculated. He also urged those over 17 to get the jab before they go on holiday. “I am satisfied that younger groups are responding… They have their whole life ahead of them and must be pioneers in this effort,” he added. Greek health authorities on Monday announced 2,070 new coronavirus cases and 5 deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of cases in the country has reached 477,975. The Covid-19 death toll in Greece is 12,903.
