Plaka attracts visitors from around the world due to its numerous historic monuments, streets and emblematic buildings. Municipal crews worked for two months in order to remove graffiti from the surface of 42 streets as well as paint walls of public buildings, playgrounds, schools, stores and houses. A total of 350 liters of special solvent, 18,000 liters of water and 4,858 liters of paint were used, as well as 150 liters of special anti-grafitti protective coating. The initiative was successfully completed through the municipality’s Adopt your City program, in cooperation with Lyktos Group, Raycap and the contribution of The Hellenic Initiative, which carried out a special fund-raising campaign.
