Photo source: Ministry of Culture The Greek Culture Ministry has announced that all outdoor archaeological sites in Greece will remain closed during specific times until Thursday due to the heatwave that has been scorching the country. More specifically, all outdoor archaeological sites in Greece will remain closed between noon and 5 pm until August 5. According to meteorologists, Tuesday, August 3, is expected to be the last day of the heat wave, with the mercury in areas reaching up to 45C. The highest temperature ever recorded in Greece was yesterday, August 2, at 46.3C in the Makrakomi town in Fthiotida (southeastern Thessaly). The National Observatory of Athens said the reading was the highest ever recorded.
