Titled “Small Places Big Dreams – Empowering women in Greek tourism”, the program will offer 300 women active in the Greek tourism industry the opportunity to participate in webinars on tourism and digital marketing as well as in the #BreakYourCeiling empowerment program with Mexoxo’s founder Elpida. Furthermore, it will provide women with the necessary tools to adjust their businesses to the sector’s digital transformation that has been accelerated during the last year due to outbreak of the coronavirus (Covid-19 pandemic). “With respect to the times we live in, I feel that we are contributing to the development of the vital tourism sector in Greece as significant companies and organizations collectively create an unbreakable cycle of change. I am grateful for their trust and commitment,” said Mexoxo founder Elpida. US Ambassador to Athens Jeoffrey Pyatt, Mexoxo founder Elpida, Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis. On his part, US Ambassador to Greece Jeoffrey Pyatt said the US Embassy’s goal had always been to empower women in Greece. “We want to make sure that Greek women are able to take advantage of the tools and the empowerment they need to take full advantage. And this is one part of a larger Embassy strategy, to focus on women’s empowerment. We’ll be doing more on that in the months ahead,” he added. The “Small Places Big Dreams” program has been designed in collaboration with AQ Strategy and will take place with contribution of Grow with Google, École hôtelière de Lausanne, Metropolitan College and the University of the Peloponnese. Applications are open and will last until the end of September at the Mexoxo website here. The graduation ceremony will be held on International Women’s Day, on March 8, 2022.
