Greece Accepting Most Covid-19 Vaccines for Travel

In efforts to facilitate travel and as one of the world’s leading tourism destinations, Greece is among the few countries in the world recognizing the largest number of Covid-19 vaccines.

The new additions on top of those already approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) were announced earlier in June by the Greek public health committee.

Travelers from the EU and from third countries are allowed admission into Greece providing proof of vaccination with one of the following vaccines: Pfizer BioNtech, Moderna, AstraZeneca/Oxford, Novavax, Johnson & Johnson/Janssen, Sinovac/BioTech, Cansino Biologics, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca – Serum Institute of India (Covishield), Sputnik V and Sinopharm BIBP.

Meanwhile, Greece is also among the first countries accepting vaccination certificates as long as these are issued by a public national authority in one of the following languages: English, German, French, Italian, Russian, or Spanish.

 

Certificates presented to border or airport authorities, to restaurant and entertainment venues or on cruise ship embarkment (if these are required) must include name, name of vaccine, manufacturer, date of Covid-19 vaccination and dose, issuing country.

Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis has reiterated that Greece is accepting all travelers irrelevant of vaccination status however they must fill in a Passenger Locator Form (PLF) one day before travel and hold one of the following: a vaccination certificate, a negative PCR test, a Covid-19 recovery certificate or an EU Digital Covid Certificate.
