Istanbul Airport tops the list, followed by Madrid Barajas Airport in second place, Rome Fiumicino in third and Barcelona Airport in the fourth position. Source: Skytrax Athens Airport also ranked 47th on the list of the World’s Top 100 Airports for 2021 compiled by Skytrax, down from the 45th position in 2020. Furthermore, AIA was placed 9th among Europe’s Cleanest Airports for 2021. Zurich Airport ranked first on the list, followed by Munich Airport in second place, London Heathrow and Rome Fiumicino in third and fourth respectively. Source: Skytrax Qatar’s Hamad International Airport has been named the World’s Best Airport at the Skytrax 2021 World Airport Awards. Hamad Airport also won the awards for the Best Airport in the Middle East, the World’s Best Airport in the 25 to 35 million Passenger category, and for the Best Airport Staff in the Middle East. The World Airport Awards began in 1999, when Skytrax launched its first global, airport customer satisfaction survey. They are regarded as a quality benchmark for the world airport industry, assessing customer service and facilities across over 500 airports.
