ELSTAT: Greece Accommodation, F&B Services Mark Q2 Turnover Increase

Greek accommodation services providers saw turnover increase in the second quarter (Q2) of the year by 452.3 percent to 596,430,723 euros against 107,999,937 euros in Q2 2020, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Thursday.

Leading the way the regional unit Rhodes marking the largest overall increase in Q2 turnover compared to Q2 2020 up by 1,744.7 percent.

The smallest rise – 49.9 percent – was recorded in the Etoloakarnania region.

On the downside, the region of Grevena marked the largest decline in turnover weaker by 54.4 percent.

Looking to food and beverage (F&B) service activities, Q2 turnover increased by 62.3 percent to 1,042,303,819 euros, compared to Q2 2020 and 642,120,925 euros in turnover.

The regional unit of Thira (Santorini) recorded the largest rise by 639.3 percent in turnover over Q2 2020, with the Kilkis region (mainland Greece) marking the smallest increase by 34.8 percent.

Again the regional unit of Grevena saw turnover drop by 11 percent, the largest decrease in Q2 2021.

Meanwhile, accommodation activities enterprises with double-entry bookkeeping saw June 2021 turnover increase by 774.3 percent to 361,086,160 euros against 41,301,600 euros in June 2020.

Rhodes accounted for the largest increase in total turnover in June 2021 over June 2020 by 3,612.3 percent with Attica recording the smallest increase by 583.3 percent.

F&B enterprises obliged to double-entry bookkeeping saw June 2021 turnover rise by 29.1 percent to 130,624,837 euros against June 2020 at 101,214,706 euros. Thira marked the largest increase by 420.7 percent in June 2021 over June 2020 and Magnesia the lowest by 5.8 percent.
