Greece ranked first on the list, followed by Ireland in second place and Spain in third. Greece also ranked second in the “Favorite Honeymoon Destination” category. Tahiti topped the list with Bermuda in third position. According to an announcement by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), Global Travelers’ readers recognized Greece’s efforts to provide incredible luxury tourism experiences. Furthermore, in a recent online article Global Traveler wrote that Greece’s varied landscape offers endless beauty, “with more than 2,000 islands, each with its own identity and appeal, as well as cities bursting with history and UNESCO World Heritage sites alongside unspoiled, traditional villages”. According to an articled published in Trazee Travel, “couples seeking the perfect setting for love on their next vacation, look no further than Santorini, offering beaches, luxury hotels, breathtaking scenery and dedicated wedding industry providers to assist with planning weddings and honeymoons.” For its Leizure Lifestyle Awards, Global Traveler conducted a survey among its readers between Dececember 14, 2020 – April 30, 2021, with open-ended questions for the best in many categories of leisure, luxury and lifestyle travel.
