Covid-19 Measures Announced for Messinia

Greek authorities, on Tuesday announced emergency restrictions for the region of Messinia in the Peloponnese, in efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Restrictions include a 1am-6am curfew, no music at bars, cafes, restaurants and entertainment venues. Movement is allowed for work- or health-related reasons only.

The measures are in effect until Friday, September 3.

Meanwhile, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection has also announced the extension of existing Covid-19 restrictions for Chania, Heraklio and Rethymno on the island of Crete, until September 3.

It is reminded that the Civil Protection authority has also imposed a nation-wide ban on parties and other gatherings of more than 20 people with fines in case of violation, ranging from 50,000 to 200,000 euros.
