Aiming to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) in Greece, the Health Ministry is providing two free Covid-19 self-test kits to certain unvaccinated citizens that are returning from their summer vacation.

In an announcement on Friday, the ministry said it strongly recommends that travelers self test for Covid once they return home as a precaution.

The free Covid-19 self-test kits will be available at pharmacies in Greece from August 30 until September 6 to the following groups of citizens:

– unvaccinated public and private sector workers

– unvaccinated persons aged 5-17 years (the self-test kits will given to a parent/legal guardian holding the AMKA social security number of the child/teenager)

– unvaccinated persons aged 18-30 years old if they have an AMKA social security number or a PAMKA (temporary AMKA) number.

The ministry said that self-test results (whether positive or negative) should be declared on the self-testing.gov.gr website. Citizens can issue a certificate from the website.
