The Kolonos Festival 2021, a cultural event taking place annually at the open-air theater of Kolonos in the Greek capital, will open its doors on September 6 to host a number of concerts and theater performances featuring popular Greek artists.

“Culture means solidarity and the city’s popular festival aims to entertain Athens’ residents and visitors but also support people that have been affected by the recent devastating fires,” the City of Athens Sports, Culture and Youth Organization (OPANDA) said in an announcement, adding that all proceeds will be donated for that cause.

This year, the Kolonos Festival also aims to embrace artists and other workers of the culture sector that have been affected by the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Therefore, during September 6-28, the festival will feature popular Greek composers and singers including Vassilis Papakonstantinou, Nikos Portokaloglou, Manolis Mitsias, Kostas Makedonas, Eleni Vitali, Stathis Drogosis, Stelios Rokkos, Melina Aslanidou, Elena Paparizou, Tamta, Ilias Vrettos, Elena Tsagrinou and many more.

All events will take place in accordance with the latest health and safety protocols announced by the National Publich Health Organization (EODY) and the National Committee for Public Health Protection. Spectators are required to wear masks at all times and follow social distancing rules.

The Kolonos theater is also accessible to people with disabilities.

Pre-sale has opened at www.ticketservices.gr with ticket prices ranging from 3 to 10 euros.
