Milos’ unique nature and beaches will be promoted to 27 countries through Vogue magazine’s global editions, the Municipality of Milos announced on Monday.

Vogue has included a multi-page feature on Milos in the September issue of its 27 global editions, following a fashion photo shoot, that took place on the island during the summer months with the support of the Milos Municipality and its tourism committee.

The Greek edition of Vogue – distributed with the Sunday edition of Kathimerini – includes a report by Natasha Blatsiou, who visited the island earlier in 2021. Titled “Aegean’s rising star”, Vogue’s feature serves as a travel guide and offers a detailed description of Milos’ points of interest, the island’s gastronomy and mineral tradition.

“Milos is a democratic place that can host everybody: from Austrian climber Tim, who toured the island on foot with a backpack, to Justin Bieber who shared his view of the island through his Instagram posts,” the article says.

According to the municipality, Milos’ tourism season may see an extension this year considering the sector’s positive performance this year.

“Vogue’s September issues will contribute to the international promotion of Milos, as well as to the island’s efforts to extend the tourism season,” the municipality said.

It is reminded that earlier this summer, Milos was chosen by French fashion house Louis Vuitton as one of the shooting locations of its latest travel campaign which launched in August.

In addition, Dior in June had selected Milos as the filming location of its Cruise 2022 campaign.
