Held on the occasion of World Tourism Day, the activity was organized as part of Neptune’s participation in the International Coast Cleanup Campaign, which is coordinated by the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA). During the event, the hotel’s guests and staff collected over 82 kilos of litter. The initiative also aimed to raise awareness among Neptune’s guests and staff on the issue of marine pollution and its impact on the environment. “Our effort to remove trash will contribute to the efforts being made to reduce the amount of microplastics ingested by seabirds, fish and other marine animals, and maintain our beautiful beach for our visitors to enjoy during their vacation,” the hotel’s management said. Neptune Hotels is also working towards reducing the amount of single-use plastics and highlighting the problem of sea pollution. The hotel has also implemented specific measures to reduce overall plastic consumption, save energy and water, limit the use of chemicals and manage waste. In addition, the resort supports Kos’ communities through the promotion of local products. The beach cleanup event was held with the support of the Silent Explorers Diving Center. During the event, the Neptune Hotels Resort, Convention Centre & Spa also adjusted the program of its Neppi Land kids club to inform its young guests on the impact of marine pollution. Inspired by the initiative, the children created and presented an environment-friendly work of art. Built in an area of 150,000 square meters, the five-star resort offers luxury rooms, elegantly decorated suites and fully equipped apartments. The complex also includes pools, outdoor multi-purpose areas, restaurants, bars and luxury wellness facilities.
