Greece jumped seven spots to third place, based on Agoda’s booking data collated on 20 September for check-in periods 1 July 2021 – 18 Sep 2021 and 1 July 2019 – 18 Sep 2019. Italy ranked first as top European destination for international travelers, when compared to the same period (1 July to 18 September) in 2019. Spain climbed two places to number 2, knocking the United Kingdom to fifth spot, while Germany was nudged out of the top five, at seventh position. Agoda supports partners through new campaign Meanwhile, the digital travel platform has launched its Welcome Back to Europe campaign aiming to help property partners in Europe capitalize on early international travel demand and drive incremental bookings. Partners signing up to the program can offer special international travel offers with discounts up to 10 percent. Participating accommodation providers will benefit from Agoda’s extensive multi-channel promotion targeting the growing market of inbound travelers. These hotel partners will be featured across the platform’s product and marketing touchpoints, including a dedicated landing page for international travel to Europe (www.agoda.com/welcomebackEU), social media campaigns, customer and affiliate marketing. “While intra-region travel has dominated summer plans in Europe, more international markets are lifting travel restrictions, including like United States, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and India to name a few. In our soft launch phase, hundreds of hotels have already offered additional discounts to international travelers and enjoyed the benefit from these incremental bookings,” said Errol Cooke, Vice President, Partner Services at Agoda. Agoda features a network of 2.9 million hotels and holiday properties worldwide, plus flights, airport transfers and more.
