Athens is Hosting the World Company Sport Games 2021

Athens’ landmark Kallimarmaron Panathinaic Stadium on Wednesday will welcome 3,500 athletes from 37 countries for the opening ceremony of the 3rd World Company Sport Games 2021.

The WCSG is an international event that brings together working people from across the globe to compete and demonstrate the virtues of company sport. Open to all levels and abilities and for organisations of all sizes, forms and sectors, the Games represent the largest, most inclusive sporting event dedicated to employees.

The 3rd WCSG will be held under the organization of the Hellenic Organization for Company Sport & Health (HOCSH) and the Region of Attica. The Games will take place in the Greek capital between October 6-10.

“The event aims to promote the values of lifelong sports and Greece’s cultural heritage,” the organizers said in an announcement.

Greece is represented by 57 companies and organizations as well as renowned old and young athletes including Olympic Medalists Voula Kozomboli, Victor Mitrou, Dimitris Mougios Giorgos Tzelilis and Maria Christoforidou.

The opening ceremony will start at 7.30pm with free admission. It will be held under strict health measures including mask wearing and social distancing rules.

The evening will feature shows by the trampoline, cheerleading and acrobatics teams, as well as music and dancing.

The World Company Sport Games 2021 will take place at the Olympic Stadium of Athens and the Peace and Friendship Stadium among other sports venues in the Greek capital.
