The museum’s winter program will run during the November 1 – March 31 period. The newly launched programs are the following: Saturday at the Museum with 20+1 masterpieces The Acropolis Museum invites guests to discover, together with its archaeologists, the hidden stories of 20+1 masterpieces. Myths and fables, folklores and traditions, historical milestones and human stories transform into art and weave a vivid experience during an outstanding walk through the Museum’s galleries. The presentations take place on Saturdays, at 10.30am in English, and 12.30pm in Greek. Strange creatures at the Acropolis Museum What is truly the Hippalektryon? A rooster or a horse? And what about Centaur, Typhon, Triton and so many others? The Museum invites parents and children (up to 12 years old) to find the answers together. Creatures of the earth, sea and air and creations of the imagination of ancient Greeks encourage guests to participate in a game of exploration, observation and knowledge. Children will be given materials to take home and create their own strange creatures. They can also photograph their artworks and upload them on www.acropolismuseumkids.gr. The event takes place on Sundays at 10.30am and 12.30pm, only in Greek. Participation for children is free. A general admission fee (5 euros) is required for parents/escorts. © Acropolis Museum / Giorgos Vitsaropoulos Afternoons at the Acropolis Museum Meanwhile, the Museum continues its “Gallery Talk” session titled “Afternoons at the Acropolis Museum”.
