Company updates Polis Grand Hotel Completes Renovation, Welcomes Guests to Athens by GTP editing team 19 November 2021 written by GTP editing team 19 November 2021 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 17 The four-star Polis Grand Hotel, located near the center of Athens, has completed the third phase of a 1.5-million-euro renovation project that started in 2016. “The hotel has successfully completed the third phase of its five-year renovation program. It remained closed for six months, taking advantage of the low tourist numbers caused by the travel restrictions of the coronavirus [Covid-19] pandemic“, the company’s CEO Lambrini Karanasiou-Zoulovits said. The hotel’s renovation program includes the installation of a thermal facade, the use of eco-friendly colors (black and white) and the development of special lighting to highlight the building’s unique architecture. The facade is now dominated by the large glass surfaces on the balconies. The hotel also features colorful corridors and 100 carefully decorated rooms and suites that offer warm shades of wood and light “fresh” colors on the fabrics and walls. The walk-in closets, the working spaces and additional amenities create a comfortable, bright and elegant accommodation environment. All of the hotel’s areas are decorated with works of contemporary art. Lambrini Karanasiou-Zoulovits “The idea of the new design was for the hotel to become modern, comfortable, brighter and also offer an intimate atmosphere,” Lambrini Karanasiou-Zoulovits said. During the first and second renovation phases, the Polis Grand Hotel had improved its environmental footprint by investing in new technology applications. It also proceeded with the revamp of its lobby and reception areas, its conference halls and main restaurant, the Polis Cafe All Day Food & Drink on the ground floor and the Roof Garden that offers stunning views of the Acropolis and the Lycabettus hill. The hotel’s Roof Top Restaurant on the ninth floor has also been renovated with the addition of an open-air bar for the summer nights. On colder days, the space is protected by sliding transparent glass panels. Unique cocktails and Mediterranean dishes are served in the heated interior. Elegant and stylish, the Polis Grand Hotel is located near the National Archaeological Museum of Athens and the recently revamped Omonia square.
