Athens’ citizens and visitors can access the WiFi4EU network from the list of available wifi hotspots on their mobile devices. By selecting “WiFi4EU” and pressing “Login”, they gain free internet access for the next 12 hours. “Our goal is for the program to be extended to Athens’ 129 neighborhoods, so that all citizens and visitors will have the opportunity to use the internet, wherever they are,” Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis said. The Greek capital’s municipality has created 118 user-friendly digital services to meet the needs of citizens and enterprises. Thousands of residents can now receive certificates and other public documents online and avoid queues and crowding at public services.
