The hotel announced that its Christmas decoration this year features used and recycled materials while its menus have been carefully designed aiming to limit food waste. Festive but sustainable decoration NJV Athens Plaza’s staff has decorated the hotel’s impressive Christmas tree with previously used ornaments mixed with new ones made of recycled materials. The trees, vases and pots that decorate the hotel’s halls are made of natural moss, wild roses and greenery of fir, pine and thuja. Moreover, the hotel has used LED Christmas lights that consume up to 80 percent less energy compared to regular lights. Also, the building’s exterior lighting system operates through a sophisticated LED lighting management software.
