Through the new video titled “Time to feel free. Memories of a roadtrip from Thessaloniki”, Marketing Greece sends its holiday wishes and invites travelers on a roadtrip full of special experiences to destinations close to the northern Greek city. In an announcement, Marketing Greece said the video also responds to the travelers’ need for freedom and focuses on the emotions that emerge from their connection with nature and mild development destinations. Starting from Thessaloniki, the video “takes” viewers on a hiking trip to the Enipeas gorge on Mt Olympus as well as for boating, bird watching and jeep safari at Lake Kerkini. It also showcases the vineyards of Goumenissa and the local sweets – including the traditional revani cake with syrup – of Veria, and the distinctive flavors of Thessaloniki’s upper town. Other featured locations include the coasts of Halkidiki, Lake Agra and the Aliakmonas river. “This new video aims to highlight and enrich the multi-thematic product of Greece. It is also an open invitation to all travelers, inside and outside Greece, to discover the unique features of this country,” Marketing Greece CEO Ioanna Dretta said. According to Dretta, mild development destinations will play a leading role in tourism in the near future and Greece could effectively meet high demand. The video also aims to contribute to the efforts being made by the Central Macedonia Region to promote the area’s tourism product. “It is important – for the holistic promotion of the area’s tourism product – to use modern marketing tools to highlight the alternative aspects of the destinations surrounding Thessaloniki,” Central Macedonia Deputy Governor responsible for Tourism Alexandros Thanos said. Marketing Greece created the video in collaboration with Greek carrier AEGEAN, that offers many direct routes connecting Thessaloniki with other Greek destinations as well as with Europe’s largest cities.
