The revised advice comes on the back of new Covid-19 isolation and quarantine rules issued by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC now advises a shortened five-day quarantine period for people infected with Covid and the use of high-protection masks after five days. In Greece, people infected with Covid-19: – must remain in isolation for at least five days and avoid all contact with others – for those without symptoms or if symptoms such as fever subside, they can discontinue isolation. If fever persists without other symptoms, they must remain in quarantine – must wear high protection mask (N95 or KN95 or FFP2) or of double mask for at least another five days. For those who came into contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case and: have completed vaccination scheme (including booster): – mandatory use a high protection mask (N95, KN95, FFP2) or of double mask for 10 days – must take a PCR or rapid antigen test on the fifth day following exposure. have been vaccinated with two doses, with the Johnson&Johnson vaccine, or are unvaccinated: – home isolation for five days and no contact with others – must get tested with PCR or Rapid Antigen Test on the fifth day – mandatory use after the fifth day of high protection mask (Ν95, ΚΝ95, FFP2) or double mask for another five days. EODY adds that authorities will be examining a different set of rules for people whose work is connected with the “functioning of the state and vital infrastructure”. The revised recommendations also cover medical and health care professionals. To contact EODY, press here.
