Minoan Lines Celebrates 50 Years of Successful Operations

Greek passenger shipping company Minoan Lines has completed 50 years of successful operations, with its luxury state-of-the-art vessels offering quality and safe transportation for people and goods.

The company was founded in 1972, with the vision to contribute to the development of the island of Crete, through the provision of high-quality services and safe transportation for passengers, vehicles and goods.

Today, Minoan Lines plays a leading role in Greece’s passenger shipping sector offering comfort, luxury and speed with modern ecological cruise ferries, high-standard services and specialized human resources on land and at sea.

“Despite the challenges of the last 15 years, the company has maintained the high level of its services, repaid its bank loans and adjusted its fleet to the strictest standards of environmental protection,” an announcement said.

Minoan Lines has also undertaken social initiatives and proceeded with actions to support local communities with consistency and responsibility.

The company was recently honored as the ferry/shipping company with the top corporate brand name in the Greek passenger shipping sector, in the transportation category, at the 2021-2022 Business Superbrands awards.

Minoan Lines’ cruise ferries connect Heraklion and Chania on Crete, with Piraeus and Milos during the summer season, as well as Heraklion and Piraeus with the Cyclades.

The company also serves the Greece-Italy line.

Minoan Lines is also the General Sales Agent of the Grimaldi group in Greece.
