Goldair – Golemis Air Services S.A. has been appointed as the General Sales Agent of Malaysia Airlines in Greece.

According to an announcement, the two companies’ strategic partnership aims to increase recognition for Malaysia Airlines in Greece, and steer sales growth throughout the Greek market with a particular focus on marine travel.

“The Greek market has proven to be a significant contributor to the Malaysian hospitality global network and we are confident that with Goldair’s extensive regional expertise, Malaysia Airlines will further grow its market share in the country while fostering Malaysian hospitality throughout,” Malaysia Airlines Regional Director for UK & Europe Daniel Bainbridge said.

The agreement will also signal the further expansion of Malaysia Airlines’ sales presence in Europe.

Goldair is one of the largest and most esteemed organisations in the field of transport and tourism in the Greek market. The GSA’s role is to build Malaysia Airlines’ strong position in Greece by conducting efficient and strategic commercial activities; establishing and reinforcing the carrier’s brand awareness in the local market; maximizing revenues from ticket sales; and encouraging trade partners to select Malaysia Airlines as a first-choice airline.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with such a reputable and highly esteemed airline and look forward to expanding Malaysia Airline’s presence in Greece and working closely to fully maximise Malaysian hospitality’s product and network potential,” Goldair Deputy Managing Director Nikos Sofiadis said.

Malaysia Airlines is the national carrier of Malaysia offering non-stop flights from London to Kuala Lumpur and beyond to key destinations in the Indian subcontinent, Asia & Australia/New Zealand.

Flights from Europe, including Athens and Thessaloniki, to Malaysia are operated by codeshare partners with one intermediate stop onto Kuala Lumpur.
