The Greek authorities on Tuesday issued a ban on sailing from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio due to strong north winds reaching between 8 to 9 on the Beaufort scale in the Aegean sea. Routes to islands of the Saronic Gulf will operate only with closed type vessels. Also not running are the ferry lines Agia Marina-Nea Styra and Keramoti-Limenas Thassos. Passengers who have plans to travel today are advised to contact the local port authorities and travel agencies before their departure to be informed of any changes or modifications to the routes that may occur due to adverse weather conditions.
