Athens Metro Line 4 entered a new phase this week after the Municipality of Athens announced that it would be proceeding with landscaping works after the completion of the project.

The municipality and the Greek Environment Ministry signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) on Monday which foresees among others planting 2,000 trees and the reinstallation of urban infrastructure once the project is completed. The MoC sets out the terms and conditions of the project in efforts to create the least possible inconvenience to city residents and visitors.

Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis said “the most important project in the country was underway; a project that the next generations will be grateful for”.
