The Ellinikon Experience Park: Forest Playground, Treehouses and Aviation Heritage

A forest playground with treehouses, interactive games and many more surprises awaits children and the young at heart at The Ellinikon Experience Park located on the premises of the former Athens airport in Ellinikon.

Covering an area of over 5,700sqm, the Ellinikon Experience Park is part of a larger metropolitan park and opened its doors in December to offer its visitors unique moments of play and adventure.

Inspired by nature and the history of civil aviation, the forest playground is considered ideal for entertainment, education and exploration.

It features 35 wooden constructions and interactive toys that encourage children to connect with nature and cultivate their creativity. Among them are the trampoline, music constructions, the magic “telephone”, climbing tree houses and swings. Τhe playground also includes games accessible to persons with disabilities.

The constructions and toys are surrounded by trees and scented shrubs, inviting children to get familiar with nature through play.

The playground was designed by doxiadis+, while its equipment was created by Richter Spielgerate and KOMPAN to ensure safe and exciting play.

The Ellinikon Experience Park also offers the Water Maze featuring an interactive fountain with hundreds of water jets; the Zen Garden with Mediterranean flora and calming waters, and an area for outdoor fitness.

The park is open daily from 5pm – 10 pm and the playground between 5pm and 9pm. Admission is free.
