The Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) has been included on the list of the “Most Sustainable Companies in Greece for 2022” that was recently released by the QualityNet Foundation.

The list was compiled based on the foundation’s annual evaluation report measuring business performance in sustainable development based on the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) criteria.

According to an announcement by the PPA, the inclusion of companies on the list of “The most Sustainable Companies in Greece”, provides the highest possible distinction in sustainable development in the country.

“At PPA we share the strong belief that the Port’s impressive development recorded in the last years can be sustainable only if directly linked to green development concepts as well as to fair and good governance, and therefore we put those issues at the top of our strategic priorities,” PPA Chairman Yu Zenggang said.

The goal of PPA, Zenggang said, is to constantly improve its  performance in ESG standards with the ultimate aim to achieve the perfect balance between the environmental societal and economic development.

Promoting sustainable development, responsible business and social responsibility since 1997, the QualityNet Foundation is in contact and consultation with 2,820 businesses, 150 institutions, 250 local authorities and 450 civil society organizations in Greece.

The foundation also acts as a source of information for approximately 21,000 active citizens.
