Spiros Paschalis SEEN made the announcement on Wednesday, after the association’s general assembly and the election of a new board of directors. Paschalis succeeds outgoing President Michail Sakellis who has been announced SEEN’s Honorary President. Paschalis thanked the association’s members for their trust and pledged to work towards building a sustainable and environmentally mature shipping sector. “In the coming years, we will need to manage for the Greek shipping sector significant and urgent challenges whose timely and effective response requires commitment,” he said. Futhermore, Paschalis said he would work with Greece’s regulatory authorities for the renewal of the coastal shipping fleet; the adoption of new international and European environmental regulations; the modernization of the regulatory framework and the upgrade of the traveling experience at Greece’s ports. The composition of the association’s new board is as follows: President: Spiros Paschalis Vice President (Passenger – Vehicle Ships): Efstratios Apergis Vice President (International Sails): Spyridon Protopapadakis Vice President (Cruise Ships): Antonios Gelasakis Secretary General: Theologos Panagiotakis Treasurer: Dionysios Theodoratos Members: Stavros Aggelidakis, Evgenidis Ioannis Vernikos, Vasilios Mammis, Michail Michail and Michail Sakellis.
