TripAdvisor: Crete’s Balos Lagoon Among Travelers’ Favorite Beaches for 2022

The Balos Lagoon, a beach located northwest of Chania on the Greek island of Crete, is on TripAdvisor’s Best of the Best Beaches list for 2022.

More specifically, Balos ranks 24^th on TripAdvisor’s Top 25 Beaches – World list and 5^th on the Top 25 Beaches — Europe list.

In addition, TripAdvisor ranks the Falassarna beach, located on the eastern side of Crete, in the 21^st position of its European list for 2022.

Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Beaches list is part of its Travelers’ Choice Awards for 2022.

“This list has something for everyone because it was determined by the millions of different travelers all over the world reviewing their favorite beaches on Tripadvisor throughout 2021,” said Christine Maguire, VP, Global Media Business at Tripadvisor.

The number one beach on the planet determined by travelers this year is Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos.

Varadero beach in Cuba ranks second on the World list, followed by Turquoise Bay, Australia, in third place; Quarta Praia, Brazil in fourth position and Eagle Beach, Aruba, in fifth.
