Hospitality ITEP: Konstantina Svinou Re-elected President of Greece’s Tourism Research Institute by GTP editing team 16 March 2022 written by GTP editing team 16 March 2022 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 22 Greece’s Institute for Tourism Research and Forecasts (ITEP) has announced its new Board of Directors following its general assembly that took place on March 15. Konstantina Svinou has been re-elected as the institute’s president. An initiative of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, ITEP is a non-profit institute launched in 1996 to study the hospitality and tourism sector in Greece and other competing countries and provide useful statistics and data to the market. The institute monitors key performance indicators of the Greek hospitality industry through its annual report and seasonal surveys. “During the last four years, we’ve managed to make ITEP a point of reference for Greek tourism through research, credibility, consistency, continuity, cooperation and targeted data management,” Svinou said. Svinou highlighted that ITEP has managed to become widely known and for its work to be recognized by Greece’s research and hospitality communities. Moreover, she said the institute has highlighted the significance of the hospitality sector for tourism and the Greek economy. ITEP’s new Board of Directors is as follows: President Konstantina Svinou 1st Vice President Kostas Leventis 2nd Vice President Yiannis Agglos Secretary General Christina Tetradi Treasurer Charalambos Voulgaris Members: Apostolos Doxiadis and Makis Zacharatos Alternate members: Konstantinos Merianos and Dimitris Pollalis ITEP’s main activities include tourism research; preparation of studies for third parties; consulting services to bodies such as the Hellenic Chamber of Hotel, the Athens-Attica & Argosaronikos Hotel Association and the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation; the holding of conferences to exchange tourism data; and statistics distribution to students and researchers.
