CNN Includes Two Hotels in Greece on ‘Best in Europe’ List for 2022

CNN Travel has included two Greek hotels on its list with the best boutique hotels opening in Europe in 2022.

The list features the Xenodocheio Milos in Athens and the ON Residence in Thessaloniki.

“While the pandemic may have put paid to many travel plans over the past two years, things are looking slightly more hopeful for 2022, with a number of new boutique hotels slated to open across Europe by the end of the year,” travel writer Nicole Trilivas says.

“The best [boutique hotels], especially those in the charm-filled cities of Europe, exhibit local flavor, distinctive character and a strong connection to the community.”

Renowned estiatorio Milos has launched its first boutique hotel, the xenodocheio Milos, in Athens.

Located right in the heart of downtown Athens, the 43-room property is a minimalist temple of gastronomy, with views over the pine-covered Lycabettus Hill and the neoclassical Old Parliament House.

xenodocheio Milos is part of the portfolio of Epoque Collection, a luxury boutique hotel management company.

ON Residence, Thessaloniki

“A true labor of love and dedication”, the ΟΝ Residence launches in Greece’s charming “co-capital” Thessaloniki later this year, according to CNN Travel.

The art-deco-inflected property will resurrect the eponymous Olympos Naoussa restaurant, a one-time hangout of the jet-setting glitterati, adding further glitz and glamor to the waterfront.

A partnership between TOR Hotel Group and Grivalia Hospitality, ΟΝ Residence holds 60 on-trend rooms, the highlight of which are the four ON Suites, on the first two floors of the restored 1926 mansion.
