According to announcements, on Wednesday: – Athens’ metro lines 2 and 3, the electric railway (line 1), the ILPAP trolley-buses and the tram will not operate for 24 hours. – Trains of railway service operator Trainose will not be running for 24 hours and there will be no services on the suburban railway (Proastiakos). – Ferry and boat employees will be on a 24-hour strike. (Travelers who have booked ferry tickets for Wednesday, are advised to check with their travel agents or contact local port authorities for further information.) – OASA buses will operate only between 9am – 9pm Flights to run normally Photo source: HCAA Although air traffic controllers had announced participation in the strike, the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) announced that the strike was ruled illegal by a Greek court and that all flights will take place as scheduled in Greek airports. GSEE and ADEDY are mainly protesting against the price hikes in energy and are demanding protection of workers’ income. Demonstrations related to the strike are scheduled in Klafthmonos Square and Syntagma Square in Athens at 11:00am.
