ENFAE Tourist Enterprises SA, of Fotis Sbokos business interests, has bought MAKRINOI Orizontes SA, the hotel’s owner, from Phāea Resorts (Golf Residences SA). The 321-room seafront resort is located in Ammoudara, Heraklion, and operates as a premium all-inclusive resort. Its construction began in 1976 by Giannis V. Sbokos, Mechanical Electrical Engineer, and it first opened its doors in 1978. According to Phāea Resorts, the resort has a successful performance, always maintaining high percentages of repeat customers. Agapi Beach has a main building, bungalows and suites, three swimming pools, beach, four restaurants and three bars, conference rooms, sports facilities, shops, kids club and spa. Always maintaining high standards in the provision of services and infrastructure and with special emphasis on the principles of sustainability, the resort has been distinguished with important awards and certifications, such as the first TUI CARE Foundation – Sustainability Global Hotel Award in 2020, Green Key 2021, Travel Life 2021 and TUI Top Quality 2022. Agapi Beach also participated as one of the first resorts in the pilot program “Crete: First steps towards a Sustainable Food Destination” by Futouris and the TUI Care Foundation during 2016-2019. Phāea Resorts will offer sales, marketing and revenue management services to the Agapi Beach Resort and also launch a new investment cycle to upgrade its other hotels and create new options for guests. The portfolio of Phāea Resorts includes the following hotels on Crete: the five-star Blue Palace, A Luxury Collection Resort and Spa in Elounda; the five-star Cretan Malia Park; the Koutouloufari Village Holiday Club and the Village Heights Golf Resort in Hersonissos.
