The magazine’s guide to the essential openings and reopenings of the past year includes hotels and resorts in 35 countries. T+L’s network of travel pros and globe-hopping writers crossed the world in search of the most memorable game-changing hotels of the year. T+L’s choices for Greece are the Kālesma Mykonos hotel on Mykonos and The Rooster on Antiparos. Kālesma Mykonos As highlighted byT+L’s luxury and experiences editor Maya Kachroo-Levine, Mykonos has honed its reputation as a hedonistic nightlife capital since the 1960s, when Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren put the Cycladic island on the A-list party map. “Fortunately, at Kālesma, travelers get all of the European glamour with none of the thumping house music reverberating through Mykonos town,” she says. Kālesma Mykonos has 25 one-bedroom suites that overlook the yacht-dotted Ornos Bay, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to reveal the spectacular views beyond. The T+L “Best New Hotels in the World” list for 2022 includes hotels in North America, Europe, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
