Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently organized the 1st Marine Day event that took place in Athens with the participation of over 100 senior professionals from the marine and offshore business.

The event focused on the dynamic role and importance of the maritime segment and its contribution to economic growth.

Furthermore, during the event, KLM President and CEO Pieter Elbers highlighted the importance of international shipping and the strong presence of the Greek shipping industry, as well as their outstanding support during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

“Greece and Cyprus represent the most important markets for us in terms of marine and offshore traffic. The Covid pandemic has led to a backlog of shipping crew to be transported and a growth in the worldwide shipment of goods via air and sea,” he said.
