flydubai Adds Mykonos and Santorini to Flight Network this Summer

flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has announced that it will resume flights to Mykonos and Santorini in Greece this summer.

Flights from Dubai to the two popular Greek islands will take place from June 24 to September 18 three times a week.

The carrier grows its network to 100 destinations with the start of flights to ten additional destinations, with the focus on seasonal summer routes.

“We are pleased to see our network reach new heights with more destinations joining this summer,” flydubai Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said.

The two Greek destinations are among the 10 to join flydubai’s growing network this summer.

The Dubai-based airline will also launch flights to the new destinations Izmir (Turkey) and Pisa (Italy). flydubai will also be flying to Bodrum (Turkey), Tivat (Montenegro), Batumi (Georgia), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Trabzon (Turkey) and Catania (Italy).

“We look forward to the start of our operations to these beautiful destinations, which will be equally popular for passengers travelling from the UAE and from around our network,” the airline’s CEO said.

Actions are being taken to address the issue of overtourism in Greece, particularly on popular islands such as Santorini and Mykonos, according to Greek Tourism Minister Vassilis
Well Mykonos and Santorini,amongst some other Greek islands, have already been greatly transformed and lost their authentism due to “overtourism”,let’s hope the minister can save what’s left,or is it already too late ?
