The latest Polish edition of National Geographic Traveler has dedicated 200 pages to 25 landmark destinations in Greece, located on the mainland and the islands.

Titled “25 locations in Greece”, the multi-page feature was created in collaboration with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) service in Poland. It presents Greece’s tourism destinations on the Aegean and Ionian islands, as well as in northern and central Greece, and in the Peloponnese.

According to the GNTO, some of these destinations are already popular to Polish travelers (Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Zakynthos, Santorini, Athens, Thessaloniki), while others are gradually gaining momentum in the Polish tourism market (Alonisos, Kefalonia, Hydra, Aegina, Epirus, Macedonia).

NatGeo’s editors praise Greece for its cultural heritage, history, monuments, unique climate, beautiful nature, hospitality, gastronomy and nightlife.

The magazine’s cover also features an impressive photo of Santorini’s caldera.

Greece among top destinations for Polish travelers

According to the GNTO, during the last few years, Greece has been among the top choices of Polish travelers.

In 2021, Poland ranked fourth among Greece’s inbound tourism markets. A total of 837,007 air travelers from the country arrived in Greece in 2021.

In efforts to maintain the strong momentum and promote Greece’s city break destinations, the GNTO recently organized a press trip to Athens and Thessaloniki’s for two journalists of NatGeo’s Polish edition.

The press trip was part of Greece’s “greekend” campaign. During their stay, the journalists visited some of the cities’ emblematic monuments, museums, cultural venues and coastal areas.

In addition, they went on a day cruise to the islands of the Argosaronic gulf.

The report is expected to be published on the magazine’s June issue as well as on the website of National Geographic Traveler Poland.
