European countries will have the chance to get to know Greece’s gastronomy and local products through this year’s Sympossio Greek Gourmet Touring initiative organized by Aldemar Resorts.

“After two years of restrictions due to Covid-19, the Sympossio returns to the kitchens of Europe. For the 12th year it confirms its position as a leading Greek gastronomy event,” Aldemar Resorts CEO Alexandros Angelopoulos said.

For over a decade, the Sympossio Greek Gourmet Touring has contributed – with its activities – to the promotion of Greece’s image and the creation of favorable conditions for growth.

The 12th Sympossio initiative recently kicked off in Milan, Italy. Under the title “Aromatic herbs of Greece”, Sympossio hosted a group of Italian travel agents and tourism professionals and presented modern Greek recipes based on tradition curated by Aldemar Resorts’ Executive Chef Giorgos Chatzopoulos and Deputy Executive Chef Manolis Roubakis.

This year’s menu aims to honor Greece’s herbs – the timeless secret of Greek gastronomy.

Sympossio’s Milan menu included:

yuvarlakia (balls of ground meat, rice, and seasonings) with aloysia, yogurt with dill and olive oil herbs
pork fillet with pumpkin pie and thyme sauce
sweet pumpkin mousse with soft yogurt cookie, pumpkin seed pasteli, vanilla ice cream and rosemary caramel sauce
– the “Always a Friend I.R.”, a cocktail created in memory of Sympossio Chef and friend Ioannis Rodokanakis.

In the coming weeks the Sympossio Greek Gourmet Touring will travel to the UK, France and Germany.
