This is the first campaign run by the municipality to promote the destination’s tourism product. The campaign focuses on the promotion of experiences linked with the area’s primary production, traditions, nature, archaeological sites, winter/summer activities and friendly locals. Powerful images, full of activities, services and tourism facilities promote the Lasithi Plateau as a unique destination for all seasons that offers unforgettable experiences. Lasithi locals voluntarily participated in the video production in collaboration with municipality executives. “Our aim is to promote places of interest, gateways to Crete, travel agencies and exhibitions in Greece and abroad. We thank the dozens of volunteers for their participation in the promotion of our area,” Lasithi Plateau Mayor Ioannis Stefanakis said. According to the mayor, the video’s production was funded by the municipality. Three more videos will be released soon to promote the area’s hospitality and dining options; activities, archaeological sites, nature experiences; primary sector and local products. The Lasithi Plateau (known as Oropedio Lasithiou in Greek) is located in the Lasithi regional unit of eastern Crete, 70km east of Heraklion.
