Attica’s Flisvos Marina this weekend will host a number of events in its premises in the area of Paleo Faliro, near Athens, to mark the celebrations for World Environment Day 2022.

“True to its commitment to protect the environment and the values of sustainable development, the Flisvos Marina will host a number of activities to convey the message,” the company’s management said in an announcement.

During June 4-5, the marina will host delegates of numerous non-profit environmental organizations including Arion, Ghost Diving Greece, Healthy Seas, Medasset, and WWF Hellas.

Visitors will have the opportunity to receive information on Greece’s natural environment and biodiversity; listen to the sounds of the seabed and marine mammals; watch divers remove old nets from the seabed with virtual reality glasses; take photos and play games of environmental interest.

“True to the values of sustainable development, our company has adopted best practices for environmental protection focusing on creating value for our social partners. On occasion of World Environment Day, we organize events with the aim to inform and raise public awareness on issues related to the protection of the environment and the preservation of the natural wealth of our country,” Lamda Flisvos Marina CEO Stavros Katsikadis said.

Prior to these events, on Friday, June 3, the Flisvos Marina will welcome students from schools of the Paleo Faliro and Alimos areas. The students will visit the marina’s composting unit and receive information on best practices for waste management.
