2022 Thought leaders Op-Ed: Marina Efraimoglou on combining holidays with a health focus by GTP editing team 30 June 2022 written by GTP editing team 30 June 2022 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 18 At Euphoria Retreat we feel optimistic about the future of tourism in Greece. Visitors from both Europe and the USA are starting to return and flights are busy. Greece is safe, easy to enter with no restrictions, and of course our weather and food are reliably good. Whilst the war in Ukraine stalled bookings for a while, confidence is now growing and we expect the summer of 2022 to be a big one. Some people even saved money during lockdowns that they are now wanting to spend on the holiday of a lifetime. Of course, health and wellbeing are a priority for many, as people are faced with the backlash of the last couple of years and its emotional and psychological issues. At Euphoria Retreat we are seeing an increased interest in stress release programmes, mindfulness and retreats which guide people towards a happier way of living. Sleep is also a focus. The fact that a holiday can be combined with a health focus is something people not only need but are celebrating. They see it as an intelligent investment in their future. We also expect the shoulder months of September and October to be as busy as the summer, as those without children take advantage of the cooler weather and slightly less crowded scene. Greece has been featured in the summer issues of the UK Conde Nast Traveller and Financial Times among other top publications, and we see no abating of this trend. It is an ideal destination for families, couples, solo travellers and, of course, spa goers. Euphoria Retreat is now well established as one of the world’s leading spa destinations and our repeat guests are keen to not only support us as a family business, but Greece as a whole. This is our chance to make a lasting good impression and create some post pandemic happy memories for people. Standards and the level of service need to remain at the top of the game, because it’s worth remembering that it is the heart, smiles and level of care that guests remember. As ever, when it comes to hospitality, Greece is the word.
